Your Door is Open
Spilling The Cosmic Beans
Regarding immigration, we aliens have noticed a few things. I’ll comment briefly. Consider this my social commentary from the perspective of an alien.
You humans most decidedly prefer to live in community, but also in people groups. In your larger cities you live side by side with other races, sometimes harmoniously. In your rural areas, not so much. This is natural. Even we star traveling aliens prefer our own kind. I have very little in common with the Tutuptians from the planet Chdar, but we get along okay. They are our closest neighbor. We mingle, but we don’t mix, if you catch my alien drift.
You humans? Some of you realize that you are all of one race. But we don’t understand why you force yourselves together. If I have a neighbor who likes to paint his trees bright orange every day, why would I want to live next to him if I prefer no orange paint on my trees? It’s easy. I live with others with similar preferences, as does he.
Sooo… getting to immigration. We don’t understand why you Americans – particularly - throw your border doors open to anyone and everyone. Even the nations you are letting in don’t do that with their own borders. You think it somehow noble, we reckon.
Now, surely it is noble to help the downtrodden, the alien – pardon the pun, but you are kind of throwing out the baby with the bathwater, as we hear you say. You are turning a 1st world society into a 3rd world society simply to help the invaders, ignoring your own citizens’ rightful and lawful prominence.
You give free healthcare; you make the schools and law enforcement bend over backwards to accommodate the invaders… things you don’t do for many of your own. This is ludicrous.
We aliens think those who are passing laws to keep borders open should be forced to live with and among those they let in. But they don’t have to, so they don’t care. They make everyone else pay the societal costs of their poor handling of the law.
We have observed many cultures, humans… those who do not enforce their laws soon have no culture. You don’t want bedlam, but you are heading there.
